NICOLE KIDMAN threw the live TV rulebook out of the window as she spat out her food during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday.
Taking part in a cooking segment alongside the TV host and celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis, Nicole made no secret of the fact she hated her focaccia bread.
Flavoured with clementine and fennel, the dish appeared to have gone a little too hard for Nicole’s liking as she instantly pulled a chunk out of her mouth.
“It’s a little tough. I know you’re not meant to criticise. But it’s a little tough,” the Big Little Lies star said.
Shocking viewers, Nicole then proceeded to spit the food out into her hand.
Aware that her bad etiquette could potentially be witnessed by her children, the 49-year-old joked: “Don’t let my kids see I did that!”
Fortunately chef Giada saw the funny side as she giggled and pointed out that the food wasn’t in the best condition.
“It’s been sitting there for like five hours!” she quipped.
The cooking segment began with Giada – who was promoting the 13th season of Food Network Star – teaching Nicole and Ellen how to make arancini balls out of leftover risotto.
But while the pair didn’t spit out food during the demonstration, they still possessed a rather cheeky demeanour by making a whole load of “ball” inspired innuendos.
