Wendy Williams had a scary Halloween on Tuesday morning when she passed out during the live airing of her self-titled television show. The program took an immediate break after her sudden fall and left the viewers shocked and worried.
The 53-year-old multi-media star opened her annual Halloween-themed show fully dressed in her Statue of Liberty costume made by Ceasar Galindo. She looked fabulous as always sporting a sparkly green number topped with a bubblegum green weave and accented with a glittery green tiara.
According to TMZ, about 48 minutes to the broadcast, Wendy Williams went on introducing her show’s annual “How You Doin’ Halloween Costume Contest.” By then, the TV host started slurring her words where she was noticeably beginning to feel uncomfortable until she started gasping for air.
Wendy blinked twice at the camera for help and slightly leaned towards her left side and lost her balance. She stumbled backward trying to get back on her foot but, to the audience’s disbelief, she excruciatingly fell to the ground.
Her TV crew came running to help her while the producers cut the broadcast into commercials. Almost everyone who witnessed Williams passing out on TV was lost trying to know how the host was doing.
For about 6 minutes of break, Williams returned to the TV screens looking as if nothing serious happened to her. She explained what really happened, saying, “That was not a stunt. I’m overheated in my costume and I did pass out.”
“But you know what, I’m a champ, and I’m back!” she added.
Williams was alright enough to finish the show. She even jokingly poked fun at her cheering audience, saying, “Is that the end of the show? Was I passed out for that long?”
Meanwhile, her team announced on Instagram that Wendy was totally okay after her live TV brouhaha. Check out their official statement below:
